The adorable duo of Akdong Musician will be wrapping up promotions this week but fans of “Korea’s siblings” should not be sad because the duo is set to come back with a new album by the third quarter of the year.
The brother and sister’s last performance will take place this Sunday, June 1, at SBS’ “Inkigayo.” After, the two will start working on their follow up album.
It may come as a surprise for YG Entertainment fans especially that it is not often that the entertainment label releases two albums for an artist in a year however, it is said that the duo has been working very hard to make it possible. In a previous interview during the release of their debut album, “PLAY”, Lee Chan Hyuk mentioned that he has more than 80 new songs that are yet to be released.
The brother and sister duo of Akdong Musician made their debut under YG Entertainment a year after winning the SBS audition program show, “K-Pop Star 2.” Their debut album “PLAY” has made a big impact as it has taken the top spot in major music charts. Likewise, their title track, “200%,” as well as other tracks in their album, ranked high in various music charts in Korea.
Aside from sweeping the music charts, Akdong Musician also won the “triple crown” in Mnet’s “M! Countdown” and SBS’ “Inkigayo” wherein they took the number one spot in the weekly ranking three weeks in a row.
