Talent agency SM Entertainment has announced details about the start of its fourth world tour, entitled “SMTOWN LIVE.”
In an announcement made on the company’s website, SM confirmed that the tour would kick off at the Seoul World Cup Stadium before “moving on to different cities in a variety of global locations.” The Seoul concert will take place at 5pm on August 15.
The lineup boasts some of the most popular musical names on the SM roster, including Girls’ Generation, EXO, SHINee, BoA, TVXQ, Kangta and Super Junior. The agency announced that tickets will go on sale at 8pm in Korea on July 3.
The first event of this kind was held in 2008, and saw SM artists play at venues across Asia. A second tour was held in 2010-2011, which saw events held in cities in Europe and North America. As part of the 2012-2013 event, a concert was held in October last year at the National Stadium in Beijing. Also known as the Bird’s Nest, this stadium was the main stadium for the 2008 Olympic Games.
