The latest episode of JTBC’s “Hidden Singer” featuring Girls’ Generation member Taeyeon has become a hot topic after earning shocking results.
Taeyeon became the very first girl group guest on the September 20 broadcast of “Hidden Singer,” and went against five other singing contestants with voices that are almost identical to her own.
To the surprise of many, it has been revealed that Taeyeon was eliminated in the second round of the competition.
In the first round, Taeyeon and the other contestants sang her solo song “If.” The Girls’ Generation member was able to make it through to the next round, during which they all sang the song “Gee.” However, due to the order in which the contestants were put, Taeyeon ended up singing one of fellow member Tiffany’s parts instead of her own.
After the second round of singing, Taeyeon received the most votes for being most unlike her voice, which resulted in her elimination. This unexpected situation was shocking to everyone, as this was the first time that the original singer was eliminated in the third season of “Hidden Singer.”
After hearing the results, Taeyeon expressed her feelings about her elimination, “’Gee’ has always been a difficult song for me. To be honest, it felt a bit strange singing another part, so I had no thoughts in my head. But on one hand, I’m happy that there are many people who listen to my voice and try to take after my voice.”
