The makers of forthcoming KBS2 Wednesday-Thursday historical drama “The King’s Face” have released a teaser video for the new series.
The teaser shows most of the major stars who will be acting in the new series, all shown staring intensely at the camera. Appearing in the drama will be the likes of Lee Sung Jae, who will play the part of King Sunjo (a monarch who reigned from 1800-1834). Also starring in the series will be singer and actor Seo In Guk, who plays the role of a prince (Gwanghae) who harbors a dark secret. Other actors in the drama include Shin Sung Rok, currently starring in tvN‘s “Liar Game,” Jo Yoon Hee, and Kim Gyu Ri.
At the end of the narration for the teaser, Seo In Guk’s voice can be heard saying, “The king of the Joseon must have the face of a king.” A member of the series’ production team explained, “The face cannot tell a lie, so we chose to use close up shots [in the teaser] to show the characters’ true feelings.”
“The King’s Face” is a drama about the illegitimate prince Gwanghae (Seo In Guk), who manages to ascend to the throne following a bloody war. The story portrays the growth of Gwanghae, as well as the tragic three-way love story between one woman and Gwanghae and Sunjo, father and son.
“The King’s Face” will begin airing on November 19 at 9:50 p.m., taking over the time slot for “Blade Man.”
