On December 3, SMTOWN’s official YouTube channel uploaded a teaser video for EXO’s 2015 comeback. Since the departure of two of their members, Kris and Luhan who filed lawsuits this past year to nullify their contracts with SM Entertainment, EXO has continued to promote as a ten-member group. They recently won big at the 2014 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA), snagging “Album of the Year” for the second year straight.
The mysterious new video begins with a spinning top and takes us through a series of modern, minimalist scenes featuring a variety of gray objects, which move or transform in different ways. Many of the objects invoke EXO’s hexagon logo. Unlike the usual comeback teaser, the black-and-white video features none of the EXO members, and the background music consists of sound effects that go along with the movement of the objects.
The video ends with “EXO 2015 Coming Soon,” with no exact date specified. This will be EXO’s first comeback since the release of their album “Overdose” in May 2014.
