“Gangnam 1970” is about two men in 1970s Seoul struggling with greed, loyalty, and betrayal in the midst of Gangnam’s industrial development. The second poster captures a desperate moment of Lee Min Ho and Kim Rae Won in their hunger for land and money.
Jong Dae, played by Lee Min Ho, and Yong Gi, played by Kim Rae Won, are two passionate young men who kill only to survive. Capturing them in real action, the poster portrays director Yoo Ha’s principle that action scenes should not exist merely for stylish effects but should exist for delivering a story.
The action scene in a mud field, which is to be an important turning point in the movie, shows Lee Min Ho throwing a feisty punch, and Kim Rae Won charging full speed at an opponent, helping the viewer visualize the movie’s dynamic and passionate story line.
