YG Entertainment‘s partnership with Woori Bank looks like it’s finally set to make a concrete release, following the announcement of their partnership in March of 2014.
The agency recently dropped a teaser photo emblazoned “YG x WOORI.”
According to a Korean blogger, the release consists of a YG check card, which will be launched on February 23, and features various discounts, including deals for the YG E-shop, YG concert tickets, restaurants, movies, etc.
This looks to be yet another step on YG’s road to expansion across the board, with the combined effects of the continued growth of the K-pop industry as well as the growth and success of YG affiliated artists.
The agency has already realized their very own fashion brand NONAGON (NONAGON), a collaborative project with Samsung, and their very own cosmetic brand, called Moonshot. Last year, they scored a giant investment from luxury brand Louis Vuitton. In the realm of K-pop itself, the agency has put together two popular boy groups through just-as-popular audition programs, both of which (have) amassed significant followings even before their debuts. Moreover, the agency also has reported plans for expansion into China, as well as the building of a K-pop venue in Korea.
