“Assassination Classroom,” the Japanese film that features former KARA member Kang Ji Young, has achieved first place at the Japanese box office. According to Japanese media, the film drew roughly 350,000 viewers over March 21 and 22, making it the top grossing film of the weekend.
After the end of her contract with former agency DSP Media, Kang Ji Young refocused her efforts on the Japanese market, transforming herself into an actress. Despite the difficulties, she has since appeared in a variety of different dramas and is doing quite well for herself.
In “Assassination Classroom,” Kang Ji Young plays an assassin who has been hired as a foreign language teacher. The film is based on a popular Japanese manga of the same name that has sold over 10 million copies.
