Actress Bae Doona has won the Best Actress award at the 9th Asian Film Awards.
The actress won for her work in the film “A Girl Next Door” at the award ceremony, which took place in Macau on March 25.
For the award, she competed against Gong Li (“Coming Home“), Kalki Koechlin (“Margarita with a Straw“), Rie Miyazawa (“Pale Moon“), Tang Wei (“The Golden Era“), and Zhao Wei (“Dearest“).
Bae Doona has thus became the third Korean actress to win the Best Actress award. Previously, Kim Hye Ja won the award in 2010 for “Mother” and Jeon Do Yeon won the award in 2008 for “Secret Sunshine.”
In “A Girl at My Door,” the talented actress played a police officer who finds herself thrust into conflicts after being transferred to a quiet seaside town.
