SM Entertainment has officially confirmed that Girls’ Generation Yuri is currently dating Hanshin Tigers pitcher Oh Seung Hwan. According to the agency, the two met through a meeting with acquaintances late last year. Currently they are “getting to know each other.”
Dispatch has jumped on the dating news wagon and released pictures of Yuri and Oh Seung Hwan on a date. They were captured on a date on December 24, 2014, after watching the movie “Ode to My Father.” Oh Seung Hwan imitated the provincial dialect that appears in the film, which made Yuri laugh, according to the Dispatch report.
They were captured on another date on December 27. Yuri joined Oh Seung Hwan at a restaurant after wrapping up filming for KBS’ “Music Festival.”
It is being reported that Girls’ Generation Yuri is currently in a relationship with Hanshin Tigers pitcher Oh Seung Hwan.
An exclusive report by Ilyo News from the morning of April 20 states that in March of last year, after the eight members of Girls’ Generation finished recording for a record in Japan, only seven members returned to Korea on March 6, while Yuri remained behind in Osaka for personal reasons, returning to Korea five days later on March 11.
March 12 was a game between the Hanshin Tigers and the Tokyo Yakult Swallows, played at the Hanshin home, Koshien Stadium, not far from Osaka. While this alone isn’t enough to confirm any relationship, the report says, upon confirmation from several baseball industry insiders, Yuri and Oh Seung Hwan’s relationship is supposedly already well known among baseball players, although the insiders also explained that Yuri’s time in Osaka was more for support for the game rather than dates with the pitcher.
The two stars continued to meet in November and December of last year, forgoing dates for meetings with friends and acquaintances, which allowed them to avoid scrutiny from reporters.
TV Report states that the two met often while Oh Seung Hwan was in Korea, at a restaurant in Incheon, at an amusement park in Seoul, at a movie theater in Gangnam, etc. Yuri and Oh Seung Hwan – seven years apart, born in 1989 and 1982, respectively – were first introduced by acquaintances.
Oh Seung Hwan is currently throwing for the Hanshin Tigers, and Yuri is promoting with Girls’ Generation in Korea and Japan.
No official statement has been released as of yet from either side.
