EXO’s manager has been taking the group’s promotions across the ocean to the United States, and to the Twitter accounts of huge celebrities, no less.
A look at @Grovechaja’s Twitter account shows a series of the same tweets sent out to some hot stars.
An exhaustive list:
Paris Hilton, Britney Spears, Ariana Grande, Lady Gaga, Sia, Madonna, Kim Kardashian, Jennifer Lopez, Rihanna, Katy Perry, Christina Aguilera, Pink, Taylor Swift, all members of Backstreet Boys, New Kids on the Block, and NSYNC.
It seems he’s targeting the fangirl heart – both young and old – and fellow boy bands.
The song is the same every time. He says, “Hello, I am an Asian guy in my 30s who loves music. I have discovered an awesome song that you might really enjoy, so I wanted to recommend it to you. It is a song by the group, Exo, called ‘Love Me Right.’ Please give it a listen.”
To the boys, he adds, “I have spent my school days listening to your music, so I wanted to recommend a song to you that allows me to reminisce of that time.”
One netizen inquired as to why the manager would take an anonymous stance, when he is far from removed. Indeed.
An introduction as the manager to a globally sensational Korean boy group – EXO – seems to lend more credibility than “an Asian guy” in his 30s.
The responses on various platforms to these tweets varied drastically, expressing everything from encouragement and pride to embarrassment and laughter. Although the likelihood that these tweets will be seen by the account managers – much less the stars themselves – is quite slim, one thing is for certain. EXO’s got a pretty sweet manager.
