“The Scholar Who Walks the Night” is the latest Korean drama to tackle the subject of vampires following “Vampire Idol,” “Vampire Prosecutor,” and most recently, “Blood” and “Orange Marmalade.” With a star-studded cast including Lee Jun Ki, Lee Yoo Bi, Kim So Eun, TVXQ’s Changmin, and Lee Soo Hyuk, the drama has steadily become a hot topic among drama fans, especially fans of the webtoon off which it is based.
Following the string of teaser photos for the drama, the first video teaser was just released, finally giving curious fans a closer glimpse into the upcoming historical vampire series.
Lee Jun Ki, who plays the vampire Kim Sung Yeol, narrates the teaser: “A beast who could at any moment devour someone, me.”
“My heart is still that of a human, but my body endlessly craves human blood.”
“It’s painful, but I will bear it to the end.”
The teaser reads, “Protect the world, and save your love.”
‘The Scholar Who Walks the Night,” set to air in July, will show viewers the collaborative work of director Lee Sung Joon, who worked on “Moon That Embraces the Sun” and “Empress Ki,” and writer Jang Hyun Joo, who scripted “Coffee Prince.”
