MBC’s Wednesday-Thursday drama, “Warm and Cozy,” ended yesterday night after a somewhat disappointing 16-episode run. Written by the Hong Sisters who penned hits like “The Greatest Love,” “Master’s Sun,” and “My Girlfriend Is a Gumiho,” the industry expected higher ratings, but the show just wouldn’t go over 10 percent. Some pointed out that that the plot circled around and around, was terribly paced and full of cliches.
But there were still some redeeming moments in the show, and that might have mostly come from the energy that the cast of the drama threw into their roles- from Lee Sung Jae‘s awkward chaebol in love to Kim Sung Oh‘s ever-thoughtful and sweet town mayor role. Leads Yoo Yeon Seok (Gun Woo) and Kang Sora (Jung Joo) also gave it their all, so it’s no surprise that their kiss scene was just as passionate.
There was a kiss scene between the two before, but this one in the final episode was the real one, lasting a good minute.
The scene starts with Jung Joo asking for them to go out for a date since they’ve never been on a proper one, but Gun Woo doesn’t want to go out. Jung Joo complains that their relationship doesn’t have enough tension. Gun Woo counters that he has been nervous and tense waiting for her to come down from her room. Jung Joo is happy to hear that and says they should go out a walk then, but before she can go, Gun Woo pulls her back and says, “I don’t want to go for a walk.”
Jung Joo agrees, she doesn’t want to do anything; she likes him the most and is just happy to be with him. She confesses, “I love you.”
In response, Gun Woo moves in for a kiss, and he pulls her in closer to him. They break apart for just a moment as they reaffirm their feelings for each other with their eyes and start to kiss again, even more passionately.
The camera pans away and these words appear on the screen: “Of course these two…didn’t go out that night…”
What do you think? Does this kiss scene go on your list of top k-drama kiss scenes?
