Movie “Miss Granny” will be remade in Japan.
According to the movie’s distributor CJ E&M, the Japanese version of the movie has gone into productions with plans to be released into theaters early next year.
“Miss Granny,” starring Shim Eun Kyung and Na Moon Hee in the title role, opened in Korean theaters in January of last year to great success. Previously, it has been adapted into a successful Chinese movie titled “20 Again” with EXO‘s Luhan in one of the supporting roles. The Vietnamese adaptation is also slated to open in Vietnamese theaters in December, under the title “I’m Your Grandmother.”
CJ E&M further revealed that negotiations with India, Thailand, Germany, and Indonesia were in talks for even more remakes.
Tabe Mikako and Mitsuko Baisho will be starring in the Japanese remake as the main character, an old woman who finds herself magically transformed into her younger self.
