During the broadcast, Hwang Jung Eum took the chance to talk about her character Kim Hye Jin’s famous style. “At first, I was depressed because I wondered if most people could accept it if an actress looked that bad,” she says. “But since there were so many people loving me and supporting me, I was able to act comfortably.”
“Also it was a bit easier for me than normal, too,” she says. “Usually it takes me about an hour to get ready, but with this show it just took about ten minutes. I could sleep for another forty minutes or so, so it was easier.” Still, she admits that she’s glad now that her character has recently gone through a makeover. “I’m so, so happy!” she says.
She adds that a lot of people are curious about whether or not she wore a wig on the show. “It’s my real hair,” she says. “So my hair’s really damaged now.”
She’s asked how she stays in such great shape, and she replies, “I usually don’t diet and instead just cover myself up with clothing. But since my face was going to look terrible this time, I thought I should be sure to take care of my body. So I dieted for the first time in five years. Now I feel more healthy.”
Viewers had got a glimpse of Kim Hye Jin’s huge transformation in the final scene of the show’s eighth episode last week and waited with anticipation until this Wednesday to find out more about her makeover. But there were reports that MBC would be postponing the new episode if the night’s baseball game went over its scheduled time.
A fan comments in the chat room that they hope the ninth episode isn’t postponed. “Ah, I know! I hope it’s not postponed,” Hwang Jung Eum replies, and then adds with a laugh, “Why does it have to be today of all days, just when I got pretty!”
Sadly, the episode was postponed in the end!
