BTS was recently nominated to represent Korea at the 2015 MTV Europe Music Awards!
The boys are up for an award in the Best Worldwide Act category, amongst the likes of other Asian acts such as Japan’s Dempagumi.inc, China’s Jane Zhang, Taiwan’s Jay Chou, and Vietnam’s Son Tung M-TP. The voting for the Asia finalist will wrap up on October 25, where the winner will then go up against five other international artists from six total regions of the world for the title.
A representative from the MTV EMAs stated, “BTS is a huge K-pop group that, since debuting in 2013, has grown astronomically and has become one of the leaders of the Hallyu wave in and outside of Asia. BTS directly writes and produces their own music, and thus are able to share their thoughts and stories through that.”
BTS recently wrapped up their North America tour, and will be holding a three-day concert in Seoul’s Olympic Park SK Handball Stadium from November 27 to November 29.
