Singer PSY has been revealed to have renewed his contract with YG Entertainment. According to an insider, he did not ask for any more money that usually comes with such renewals, and he did so solely out of his friendship with YG Entertainment.
He signed with YG Entertainment before he became an international hit with “Gangnam Style,” and he was well-supported in his artistic endeavors before his success. It is said that he appreciated YG Entertainment’s support very much, before and after “Gangnam Style,” and renewing the contract was the natural choice for him, especially considering that he spent a lot of time with the CEO of the company, Yang Hyun Suk.
His loyalty is well-known in the music industry. One of his songs in his new album, “Dream,” pays homage to Shin Hae Chul, and all proceeds from the song will go to Shin Hae Chul’s family. He has also donated 500 million won (approximately $430,000) to Yonsei Severance Children’s Hospital.
PSY’s double title songs, “Daddy” and “Napal Baji” are both garnering international attention, and made it to the top of every Korean music chart.
