The cast of “Running Man” has been through some scary missions in the past, but the latest episode of the show literally puts their courage to the test!
In February 7’s episode, the crew tries to see how courageous the cast members are with a frightening test. They present them with six covered boxes that they have to reach into in order to grab the glass balls that have been placed inside. Of course, the glass balls aren’t the only things in the boxes, and so the cast has to get over their fear of the unknown and touch the various slimey, sharp, hairy, and creepy things inside the boxes as they hunt for their treasure.
Before the test starts, it’s revealed that “Running Man” has compiled a list of all the times the members have shown their fear on the show by screaming, saying “I can’t do this!”, making pained sounds, talking to themselves, and more. Kim Jong Kook takes the top spot on the list of the members with the most courage based on this data, with Yoo Jae Suk coming in last place.
Kim Jong Kook takes the courage test first, and rather than showing any fear, he seems confident as he rummages through the contents of the boxes to find the glass balls.
Although he doesn’t have any problem completing the test, he laughs when he’s done and says to others, “You guys are in big trouble.”
Gary’s up next, and he gets everyone else terrified when he shouts that he’s been bitten by the contents of his first box, which viewers can see are actually spikey balls. He’s also the first of many members to jump in fright when they’re touched by a crew member’s hand in a rubber massage glove, and he ends up on the floor in shock.
Lee Kwang Soo takes the next turn, and he’s so scared by this point that he can barely get his hand in the first box, which houses the dreaded rubber gloves. “The box is warm inside!” he screams, and has to ask Kim Jong Kook to force his arm into the box.
Yoo Jae Suk, who the others expect to be the “highlight” of this mission, then steps up to take the test. As he sticks his hand in the box with the gloves, Lee Kwang Soo says, “Wow, it’s following his hand!”
Hearing this, Yoo Jae Suk pulls his hand out of the box and stares at Lee Kwang Soo in disbelief and annoyance, thinking he’s joking with him. But on his next try, the crew member touches his hand with the glove, and Yoo Jae Suk shouts, “There’s something in there!”
The next time he tries, the gloved hand is near the hole at the top, and Yoo Jae Suk screams, which makes Song Ji Hyo scream too. “It was waiting for me!” he says in fear.
He finally gives up and goes for the next box, which is full of loaches. When he puts his hand in and feels the water that the small fish are swimming in, he turns to Kim Jong Kook and pleads, “What is this? Come on, tell me!”
The next box, which is full of noodles, is the final straw for Yoo Jae Suk, who just begins to yell in horror when his fingers barely touch the contents. Eventually he’s saved by the crew, who tell him he’s out of time.
Song Ji Hyo is up next, and she’s been getting more and more scared as she’s watched her fellow members take their turns. When she’s on her first box (which contains the gloves), she gets completely freaked out and begins to cry, and the guys go back and forth between teasing her and trying to help her. In the end, she barely touches the noodles and screams, flinging herself backwards to lie on the ground.
Yoo Jae Suk encourages her to try the glove box again, and she tearfully gives it another shot, but she flips out when it touches her hand again. As everyone laughs and tries to help her recover, Yoo Jae Suk calls an end to her turn.
In the end, she’s led over to the box with the gloved hand, which is waving at her.
