Weekly K-Pop Music Chart 2016 – February Week 3

soompi Weekly K-Pop Music Chart 2016 – February Week 3

GFRIEND repeats as No. 1 with “Rough” on another high score. This song keeps winning on music shows, the latest were on Music Bank and M!Countdown last week. “Rough” also continues to top the GAON chart and most internet charts. Congratulations again to GFRIEND.

There are three new songs in the top 10 this week. Moving up 10 spots to No. 2 is WINNER’s “Sentimental.” WINNER was the top rookie in 2014. After a quiet 2015, they are back in full swing this year with the release of the Part 1 of their EXIT MOVEMENT: E. “Sentimental” is one of the title songs. Unlike their previous ballads, this song co-written by member Nam Tae Hyun has a more upbeat melody. It showcases WINNER’s great harmony and charming vocals. As the title implies, this song is about sentimentality. Let’s see if “Sentimental” can pick up enough points to dethrone “Rough” next week.

After a successful solo debut last year, Girls’ Generations’ Taeyeon is back with a new song “Rain.” It moves up 11 spots to No. 4 this week. This song is the title track from her single album of the same name. It is a mid-tempo R&B ballad about reminiscing rain to the beautiful memories of love. “Rain” won on Inkigayo last week and it will be a contender for our top spot next week.

Moving up 10 spots to No. 5 is 4minute’s “Hate.” This song is from the group’s seventh mini-album “Act. 7.” It is a hip-hop song that starts slowly and the beat becomes more intense especially at chorus. It is about a woman who feels that her boyfriend wants to break up with her.
