On March 26, a Korean media outlet named the “triad” of teenage actresses who are conquering the acting world despite still being in their teens. The young girls have both beauty and talent and are widely regarded as the “nation’s little sisters.”
Kim Yoo Jung (16) is one of the best known child actresses in Korea and her steady work has allowed audiences to watch her grow up in front of their eyes. In 2008 she won the best Child Actor award at the SBS Drama Awards and is transitioning to teen roles in dramas such as “Angry Mom.” Both Kim Yoo Jung and Kim So Hyun (below) starred as child actors in the 2012 drama “The Moon Embracing the Sun.”
From her debut, Kim So Hyun (16) has been labelled a “little Son Ye Jin” and has proven herself not only a talented actress but a talented singer as well. The media outlet claims that one of her strongest points is her ability to build chemistry with any actor she works with, including former onscreen partners Yeo Jin Goo, BTOB’s Yook Sungjae, Ji Soo, and Chun Jung Myung. She is currently appearing in the KBS2 drama special “Page Turner” and the Naver TV Cast web series “Nightmare Teacher.”
Despite never having attended an acting school, Kim Sae Ron (15) has received praise for her work as a child actor in 19+ rated films such as “The Man From Nowhere,” “The Neighbor,” and “Manhole.” Her most recent productions include the drama “Glamorous Temptation” and “Hi! School: Love On.” She has also been cast in JTBC’s upcoming drama “Mirror of the Witch” co-starring Yoon Shi Yoon.
