Actor Joo Sang Wook, who recently starred in the JTBC drama “Fantastic,” sat down for an interview to talk about going public with his relationship with actress Cha Ye Ryun.

The interviewer mentioned how photos of the two of them going on a trip together had garnered a lot of press. “It was crazy,” he said. “There were too many people at the airport. It was because we were on the same plane as GOT7. But while we were waiting to board, someone kept taking photos. We heard the shutter sound going off, but the camera wasn’t pointed at GOT7. We wanted to ask them why they were taking photos of us, but it felt weird to tell them to stop. So we just went on our way. Since it was a morning plane and there were no headlines in the afternoon, we thought we overthought things, but then it became an issue by evening.”

About Cha Ye Ryun, he said, “It goes without saying that she’s different from her image. People think she looks cold on the outside, but she’s not like that. She’s also the kind of person who prefers traditional markets to going shopping at the mall. We went to those kinds of markets on Jeju Island.”

Although the couple are both actors and met on the set of “Glamorous Temptation,” Joo Sang Wook said, “We don’t talk about acting. In a previous interview I’d said that I gave my girlfriend acting advice, and it got a lot of negative comments. To explain that, I didn’t give detailed advice on acting, but tips on the character’s hair and clothes.”

He also said that they date like any other couple. “The good side of publicly dating is that we can date normally. We can go wherever we want and do whatever we want. People might recognize us, but nobody says anything.”

He added, “Public dating is only uncomfortable if the couple happens to break up later. If we kept hiding our relationship, we wouldn’t be able to do anything.”

Do the couple have any thoughts of marriage? “We have nothing planned,” he said. “Someone asked us about our wedding date and I was dumbfounded. We have no plans for marriage at the moment.”
