The case began on May 18 at 3 a.m., when a woman in her twenties (hereafter referred to as “A”), called the police claiming that she had been sexually assaulted. Yoo Sang Moo denied these claims, and A later withdrew her report. However, A then canceled her withdrawal, putting the case back on the table.
December 8, Yoo Sang Moo’s agency Koen Stars officially revealed that the charges against Yoo Sang Moo had been dropped.
The agency said, “November 8, [Yoo Sang Moo] was ruled not guilty, and the charges against him were officially dropped. It’s a shame how the reports about our agency and Yoo Sang Moo were inflammatory, while the plaintiff’s claims were written as if true, but regardless, we waited for the results of the investigation with humility.”
Yoo Sang Moo stated through his agency, “Regardless of the results of the investigation, I am very sorry about causing everyone concern with this scandal. I will take what happened as a life lesson and devote myself to my work with honesty, sincerity, and responsibility.”
The agency concluded, thanking everyone who supported and believed in Yoo Sang Moo. “With this as an example, I hope these cases where people try to take advantage of celebrities’ public positions will stop.”
