“Hwarang” has entered the ratings competition in second place.
According to statistics released by Nielsen Korea on December 20, the first episode of KBS 2TV’s new Monday-Tuesday drama “Hwarang” had a viewership rating of 6.9 percent.
This is 2.9 percent higher than the ratings of the last episode of its predecessor “The Man Living in Our House,” and puts the new drama in second place for dramas in its time slot. SBS’s “Romantic Doctor Kim” had ratings of 22.6 percent, MBC’s “Night Light” came in at 3.8 percent, and KBS 1TV’s “Gayo Stage” came in at 11.6 percent.
“Hwarang” is a youth historical drama that tells the story of the passion, love, and growth of a group of young warriors living in Silla. The drama stars Park Seo Joon, Go Ara, Park Hyung Sik, Kim Taehyung (BTS’s V), Choi Minho, Do Ji Han, Jo Yoon Woo, Kim Ji Soo, and Choi Won Young.
