Explanations have come forward regarding a controversy between I.O.I’s Jeon Somi and UP10TION’s Wooshin.

On December 24, a video was posted by SBS’s “The Show” on Twitter with the caption, “A Christmas message from MC SoShin (Somi, Wooshin) has arrived.”

The controversy began when it appeared to some people that Wooshin had placed his hand on Jeon Somi’s chest area in the video.

When the controversy escalated and spread, “The Show” released a statement on Twitter that read, “The show’s staff were there on location when the two MCs were filming this video to monitor the footage. The scene was filmed with the two MCs keeping a reasonable distance between each other. We hope that there are no more misunderstandings regarding this.”

YMC Entertainment released the same statement and said, “Jeon Somi is taken aback by all of the speculative comments. There is no truth to this controversy.”

TOP MEDIA spoke on behalf of Wooshin as they stated that both Somi and Wooshin had checked the video before giving permission for it to be posted and emphasized, “The physical contact that is being alleged did not happen.” They also added, “Wooshin has promised to be more careful in the future to avoid causing such misunderstandings as a public figure again.”

“The Show” has since removed the video from their Twitter account.
