JYP Entertainment’s building features photos of agency artists including Park Jin Young, Wonder Girls, Jo Kwon, 2PM, Park Jimin, Baek Yerin, Baek Ah Yeon, GOT7, G.Soul, DAY6, TWICE, and more on the outside. However, it appears as though the photo of Wonder Girls was removed on January 12. This marks the first time in 10 years that Wonder Girls has not been featured there.
Due to this change, many are speculating that the members of Wonder Girls are not likely to renew their contracts with JYP Entertainment. Previously, when 2AM’s exclusive contracts with the agency ended and only Jo Kwon remained, the photo of the group was replaced with a photo of only Jo Kwon. However, when Jia left miss A, the photo of the four-member team remained.
According to an inside source, a member playing a key role in Wonder Girls met with a senior official from JYP and expressed no intention of renewing. However, it appears as though there is still a chance that some members will renew with JYP Entertainment depending on how discussions proceed.
JYP Entertainment has yet to release an official statement about the situation. The agency previously stated that discussions are ongoing and no decisions have been made yet.
