“Infinite Challenge” Comes Under Fire For Driving Behavior In Recent Episode

As “Infinite Challenge” enters their seven-week hiatus, the show was recently met with a controversy.

In the January 21 episode, the members gathered together to test their level of awareness during a special feature segment titled “Your Name.”

The controversy arose while members Jung Joon Ha and Park Myung Soo were being tested. During this episode, Yoo Jae Suk, Jung Joon Ha, and Park Myung Soo were traveling to another location when the car was seen reversing in a one-way street, causing many viewers to frown at the behavior.

Signs indicating that it was a one-way street were shown as the members were taking their test. While they were not directly driving the vehicle, many found it regrettable that the production team did not pay more careful attention to the road.

According to South Korea’s Road Traffic Act, reversing in one-way street is considered a signal violation. The penalty for a signal violation is a fine of 60,000 won (approximately $51) and 20 demerit points. If an accident were to occur while they were driving in a one-way street, they would be subject to criminal punishment even if they are covered by comprehensive car insurance.

In regards to their actions, one netizen reported the show to the Korean Communications Commission.

Meanwhile, “Infinite Challenge” recently announced that the show will be taking a seven-week hiatus, and many are curious to see how this controversy will be finalized.
