Main Cast Of “Goblin” Writes Their Final Farewells

The cast of “Goblin” wrote out their final farewells as the drama nears its end.

Episode 14 of tvN’s “Goblin” aired on January 20 and was its highest viewership ratings yet, even beating out the big three broadcasting companies in its time slot. According to statistics released by Nielsen Korea, the episode had average ratings of 17.5 percent, with the highest real-time ratings peaking at 20.2 percent.

To commemorate the end of their drama, Gong Yoo, Lee Dong Wook, Kim Go Eun, Yoo In Na, and Yook Sungjae took time to hand-write sweet messages of gratitude.

Gong Yoo, who showed everything from a charismatic side to a romantic and comedic side as Kim Shin, gave a small wave as he said his goodbyes. Quoting a popular line from the drama and playfully using Kim Shin’s speech patterns, Gong Yoo wrote, “Everyone has a moment in which a god stays by their side. It’s been nice staying by your side. I love you… I’ve said that before. I’m glad that it’s over! Or am I, I’m not so sure.” He signed his note with, “from Gong-blin,” showing affection for the drama till the very end.

Lee Dong Wook played the role of the grim reaper and Wang Yeo, two men plagued by a painful fate. He gave a calm and warm smile as his card read, “Thank you to all our viewers! Please remember the grim reaper from ‘Goblin’ for a long time. Be healthy and be happy!” Lee Dong Wook had his picture taken at the ‘Grim Reaper Tearoom,” a place that meant a lot for his character.

Kim Go Eun played Ji Eun Tak, the extraordinary “Goblin’s wife,” and she gave her signature bright and pure “Tinkerbell Ji Eun Tak smile” as she wrote, “‘Goblin’ was full of so many happy memories. Thank you for giving us your love.” Yoo In Na was the charismatic “girl crush” owner of a fried chicken restaurant and the signature on her card had an adorable image included in it. Her message read, “Thank you for watching ‘Goblin’ and loving Sunny! I hope you always stay healthy! From In Na.”

Yook Sungjae was praised for his role as a member of a chaebol family and as a god, and he wrote, “Thank you to everyone who supported and loved Duk Hwa as he went from a third-generation chaebol to a god. Thank you. I love you.”

The staff wrote, “The explosive passion and affection the actors had for the drama over the past five months has helped create the greatest production,” and “We are happy to have received so much love from our viewers with all of the effort the cast and crew put into the production. Please make sure to watch our drama till the very end!”
