As K-pop is becoming increasingly popular, many idols have tried their hands at acting as well. Some of these idol-actors have done well in their acting endeavors and are sharing their talent with more fans than ever before. Here are a few of our favorites that have not only done well on-screen, but have also taken on the challenge of filming exciting action scenes!
On numerous occasions, EXO’s D.O. has shown that he has what it takes to leave a lasting impression in any role he plays. He manages to capture all of the darker emotions like anger, resentment, disgust, and hatred that come hand-in-hand with physical violence.
Even though he is the one taking the hits in most of his roles, it is impossible to ignore his talent!
Watch “I Remember You“:
Being the modelesque visual of VIXX, Hongbin has also taken on the challenge of acting in television dramas.
Hongbin’s long legs work in his favor when he is filming scenes that showcase kicks.
Watch “Moorim School“:
Even though he is full of aegyo in real life, Park Hyung Sik exhibits confidence in many of his roles. Don’t let his innocent puppy-dog eyes fool you; he can pull off any role he is given.
Hyung Sik may look like a flower boy, but his characters prove that they can look after themselves.
Jinyoung has his hands full with being the leader of B1A4 and his acting career. He recently filmed more content that has action, and left a memorable impression with his action skills.
He may seem sweet and gentle, but Jinyoung pulls off deadly just as well.
Watch “Moonlight Drawn by Clouds“:
Lee Joon is a man of many talents, and he has shown that he can be both an amazing actor and dancer. Like many that are gifted in ballet, he has an entrancing artistic image. He is not afraid to take on the most unusual roles, and has played some sinister villains in his acting career.
His cop character is portrayed perfectly with Lee Joon’s intelligent and practical fighting style.
Watch “Vampire Detective“:
SHINee’s Minho has usually had romantic or lovable roles in his past works; with his handsome boyfriend image, he has not had as many chances to film action scenes as some of the other actors on this list. More recently, he has been branching out and filming more physical roles like in the action film “Derailed” and the drama “Hwarang.”
All of the actors on this list have received training so that they can film action scenes safely while making them look as realistic as possible. However, Rain took his commitment to filming physical scenes to another level. He was willing to undergo extreme diets and extensive physical training for months to make sure he was in peak condition for the duration of filming “Ninja Assassin.”
Choi Siwon was always a candidate to be an actor for many reasons. He appeared in television series before he even debuted in the group Super Junior, and he juggled being an idol and an actor for years.
It is no surprise that the oldest member of BIGBANG has been in a number of different dramas and movies over the years. His stoic and cold impression has led him to play some badass roles. He will always be the lovable ‘bingu’ T.O.P that V.I.Ps have fallen in love with, but he can bring us chills in any powerful role he plays.
