SHINee’s Jonghyun and Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon are set to light up the stage with a beautiful duet.
Jonghyun is set to appear on KBS 2TV’s “Yoo Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook” to mark his return as a solo artist for the first time in two years.
During the show, he was asked about his talents as a lyricist, with his lyrics being praised by music-lovers and poets alike. Jonghyun revealed that the secret to his skills was reading. He said, “I read two books a week. When I have overseas activities, one section of my luggage is dedicated to books.” The idol proceeded to gift Yoo Hee Yeol with a copy of “Skeleton Flower,” his first novel that was released in 2015. He even revealed that he is currently conceptualizing the plot of a thriller novel.
On his latest album, “Story Op.2,” Jonghyun said, “The new album is one that has a black and white tone and reflects the analogue emotions I have.”
To perform the title track “Lonely,” Jonghyun was joined by the song’s original feature artist and muse, Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon. He explained, “I wrote the song with Taeyeon in mind and wanted to reflect her bright but gloomy personality.” Taeyeon confessed, “I thought it would be a complicated song, but it was easy to listen to and I really liked it.”
Jonghyun revealed that to thank her for featuring in his song, he gifted Taeyeon with some Gongjindan, a traditional multi-herbal medicine. Taeyeon added, “Thanks to him, I wake up in the morning so full of energy.”
SHINee’s Jonghyun and Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon will be appearing on “Yoo Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook” at midnight on May 13.
