Idol-turned-actor Lee Joon has been garnering praise for financially supporting comfort women, victims of sexual slavery at the hands of Japanese soldiers during World War II.
A representative from House of Sharing, a charity providing welfare facilities to comfort women, confirmed that Lee Joon donated a generous amount of 10 million won (approximately $8,864).
This isn’t the first time Lee Joon has given back to the community. He previously donated to the Sewol Ferry disaster, and he also dressed up in an animal costume for a Salvation Army charity event last year.
Meanwhile, Lee Joon is currently acting in the weekend drama “Father Is Strange.”
