Lee Joon Gi To Star In A Drama Set In Present Day For The First Time In 4 Years Tonight With “Criminal Minds”

Lee Joon Gi’s upcoming Wednesday-Thursday drama “Criminal Minds” is his first drama set in the present day since MBC’s “Two Weeks” in 2013.

In tvN’s “Criminal Minds,” Lee Joon Gi will play Kim Hyun Joon, a crime scene investigator in the NCI’s profiling team. Prior to this job, he was part of the SWAT team’s bomb disposal unit.

Kim Hyun Joon is often misunderstood due to his mischievous attitude, but his true concern and empathy for crime victims are proof of his warm heart. Interestingly, he is a character that was created for the Korean remake of “Criminal Minds” and does not exist in the original American series.

Many fans are excited to see Lee Joon Gi act in a modern setting again. His performance in action dramas has always been superb, which is why his stunts in “Criminal Minds” are something to look forward to. Even more so, considering that the upcoming drama is similar, genre-wise, to his legendary drama “Time Between Dog and Wolf.”

Previously, at a press conference, Lee Joon Gi stated, “I’m a bit nervous because it’s been a long time since I’ve acted in a drama set in the present, but I’m also looking forward to it. The controlled action scenes are the beauty of this modern drama. I will do my best to show some refreshing action scenes in the story to make the heat go away. Please look forward to it.”

“Criminal Minds” airs tonight on July 26 at 10:50 p.m. KST.
