BTOB’s Changsub recently discussed his life as a rookie musical actor and mentioned Wanna One’s Kang Daniel!
On August 11, Changsub participated in a press interview for his ongoing musical “Napoleon.”
When asked if he had any concerns as a member of an idol group in its sixth year since their debut, Changsub answered, “As a member of BTOB, I’ve never thought of the end. All seven of us think the same. We will continue as BTOB even if we grow old.”
However, Changsub revealed that he did have one concern as an idol. “Everyone is so handsome,” he said, and chose Kang Daniel as one of the most attractive idols. “Kang Daniel is especially charming. Idols these days are really young, but you can sense their burning passion,” he added.
As a musical actor, he said, “Since I’m beginning as a musical actor, I tend to tense up. I’m trying my best to do well as the youngest [of the cast].”
Aside from his career as a singer and actor, Changsub compared himself to a friendly neighborhood guy who likes to go out in shorts and slippers to drink beer at the convenience store. “I’m like a big brother. As a singer and 6-year idol, I’m considered ancient to rookie idols. [BTOB’s] charm is in being well-versed in the music industry.”
Changsub went on to share, “I want to keep on showing progress as a musical actor. I’m only on my second production now, and I imagine how I’ll be doing on my tenth musical. By that time, I hope some people recognize me as a musical actor first, rather than an idol.”
Meanwhile, the musical “Napoleon” brings the story of Napoleon Bonaparte to life. Changsub plays the role of Napoleon’s younger brother Lucien.
“Napoleon” is currently playing at Charlotte Theater until October 22.
