Songwriter Bang Jin Kang, who co-wrote Wilber Pan’s “Insomnia,” has apologized for plagiarizing one of Yong Junhyung’s past tracks.
He apologized through his agency Future Sound Music, saying, “While I was writing a song called ‘Insomnia,’ I must have unconsciously added a few bars of the melody. I deeply apologize for making everyone feel uncomfortable. I have embarrassed Wilber Pan. I apologize for influencing a song that he co-wrote. And if there is a violation regarding the copyright, I want to take legal responsibility.”
In response to his apology, a source from Highlight’s agency stated, “Thank you for coming forward and acknowledging [the plagiarism] and apologizing. After sorting out the issues regarding copyright violations, we will be taking action to make sure that Yong Junhyung’s rights will no longer violated in the future.”
Meanwhile, Taiwanese singer Wilber Pan’s new track “Insomnia” was recently brought into attention after it was suspected of plagiarizing Yong Junhyung’s past track.
