SM Entertainment Confirms They Are Negotiating Contract Renewals With Girls’ Generation

The members of Girls’ Generation, who are celebrating their 10th anniversary as a group this year, are currently in talks with SM Entertainment on whether to renew their exclusive contracts.

Reports emerged on August 16 that Girls’ Generation is currently in talks with SM Entertainment as their exclusive contract recently ended.

SM Entertainment confirmed the reports and stated, “It’s true that we are currently in the process of renewing our contracts with the members of Girls’ Generation. The majority of the members have already renewed their contracts and we are in talks with the remaining members.”

Having made their debut on August 5, 2007 with “Into the New World,” Girls’ Generation has released many hits like “Gee,” “Genie,” “I GOT A BOY,” and “Oh!” and has become one of Korea’s most representative girl groups.

Girls’ Generation recently released their sixth studio album “Holiday Night” to celebrate their 10th anniversary. Industry insiders believe contract renewals will go smoothly for the group as the members have repeatedly expressed their love for their identity as Girls’ Generation and how proud they are of staying together for 10 years.
