On August 22, Longguo & Shihyun’s agency Choon Entertainment posted an official message on their social media about recent issues that had come to their attention.
“Hello, this is Choon Entertainment,” the statement read. “From now on we have decided that we will not be accepting fan gifts that consist of drinks or food with short expiration dates. On multiple occasions we have received gifts that were asked to be sent on to the members that consisted of expired or spoiled food. We have determined that some of these gifts were sent with malicious intentions [towards the members].”
They continued, “For the protection of our artists, we will be restricting gifts like drinks or food that easily expires. We ask for everyone’s understanding.”
The agency also announced that they would be closing Longguo & Shihyun’s fan cafe. “We would like to inform you that on September 3, Kim Yong Guk and Kim Shi Hyun’s official fan cafe will be shut down,” they said. “In the fan cafe, the fandom had begun to grow divisive and after much consideration, we have decided to close it down. We are thankful to the fans who have used the fan cafe lovingly and we plan to hold discussions with a new person in charge to prevent crossed communication in future. Rather than through new email accounts or representative numbers, we aim to have a more systematic way to communicate with fans from now on. We ask for everyone’s understanding in the closure of the fan cafe and ask for your support in Kim Yong Guk and Kim Shi Hyun’s future promotions.”
They concluded, “For now, Longguo & Shihyun will be participating only in schedules that were difficult to cancel in advance as a temporary group.”
