The finale of “Show Me the Money 6,” a showdown between rappers Woo Won Jae, Nucksal, and Hangzoo, was held on Friday, September 1.
In the end, rapper Hangzoo from producer team Zico and Dean took the win, just barely edging out Nucksal by 50,000 won.
It was an emotional win for Hangzoo, who couldn’t hold back his tears upon hearing the announcement. His fellow Rhythm Power members Boi.B and GeeGooIn joined Hangzoo on stage, wearing matching tops that said, “Rhythm Power album coming soon.”
Hangzoo said, “I never understood before why people cried on these shows… It was so difficult, but what gave me the strength to keep going is everyone here [on stage]. And… all of our staff members were praying for me, but my Rhythm Power friends… I came on the show to do better with them. Seeing their faces, it’s making me cry.”
Hangzoo previously tried out for “Show Me the Money 4,” but was eliminated in the preliminaries. He wasn’t initially going to audition for season 6, but seeing his teammate GeeGooIn get eliminated right away, he decided to go for it on the spot.
In an interview with Sports Chosun, Hangzoo said, “This situation still feels surreal. I don’t even know what to say. If, before, I didn’t know what I needed to do, I’m sure now. This is just the beginning. Thank you.”
