On the September 3 episode of “King of Masked Singer,” the identity of “Flower Shrimp” was unveiled to be a rookie solo artist.
For the first round, she performed Lyn’s “Back in Time” as a duet with her competitor “Pufferfish Girl.” Kim Gura guessed her to be a member of Red Velvet, while Block B’s Taeil thought that she is Weki Meki’s Choi Yoojung.
As a result of the audience and panelist votes, “Pufferfish Girl” won with 55 votes against 44 for “Flower Shrimp.”
“Flower Shrimp” performed Lee Hyori’s “10 Minutes” before revealing her identity to be Kim Chungha. She revealed, “I had more confidence in my dancing than singing, so I showcased my dancing much more,” and added, “I didn’t have many chances to show off my singing, so I’m glad I was able to show it through this opportunity.”
In the backstage interview afterwards, she expressed her gratitude at the positive comments from the celebrity panel and shared, “I am thankful just for the dancer image. I still have a long ways to go with singing. Because of the great courage and compliments I received, I think I will be able to sing more confidently from now on.”
