Highlight member Lee Gikwang, who is currently promoting his solo comeback mini album featuring the title track “What You Like,” appeared on the September 15 radio broadcast of SBS PowerFM’s “Park So Hyun’s Love Game.”
When DJ Park So Hyun asked him for a song request, Lee Gikwang chose Rain’s “Bad Guy,” a song that was released in 2002 when he was in middle school.
After talking about how much he likes the cool introduction of the song, he said, “Even as another man, it looks cool. At the time when little Lee Gikwang saw it, it looked cool too. The performance was also perfect.”
The singer also added he wants to “collaborate on a performance with Rain.” Lee Gikwang recently performed a short version of Rain’s “Rainism” on “Yoo Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook.”
Then, as a classic masterpiece, he chose g.o.d’s “Return to Me.” Lee Gikwang shared, “I’m a huge g.o.d fan and especially liked Son Ho Young.”
He then added, “When I was in middle school, I used to mimic them and really liked them.” He also shared a story about running into them during his time as a former JYP trainee and said, “When I was a JYP trainee and saw g.o.d and Rain for the first time, I wondered if I was dreaming. They had halos. I bowed not just 90 degrees but 180 degrees.”
