Go Kyung Pyo recently wrapped up filming for his first lead drama KBS 2TV’s “Strongest Deliveryman,” a role he landed after 8 years of acting.

After gaining attention for his role in tvN’s hit “Reply 1988,” Go Kyung Pyo changed his image as a third-generation chaebol in SBS’s “Jealousy Incarnate” and even acted with some industry heavyweights in tvN’s “Chicago Typewriter.” During a recent interview, the actor opened up about his dramas, co-stars, and career.

“I think I’m lucky to work with such good people,” expressed Go Kyung Pyo, saying that the positive atmosphere during the filming of “Strongest Deliveryman” was thanks to the crew and staff of the drama. He continued, “I started to see things that I hadn’t seen before. I used to think only about acting well, but the crew on set recently caught my eye. I have a lot of respect for them and was upset at their poor working conditions. I wanted to work hard to give them even one word of encouragement.”

One of the reasons why “Strongest Deliveryman” was loved by so many viewers was because it was a “good drama” that told the story of the main character, a Chinese food deliveryman, and showed the love and success of the lower socioeconomic class. The actor said, “I’m embarrassed to say I have a lot of pride, but I think it’s really important for people these days to empathize with pain. I felt the need to instill strong ideals and courage, like how candlelight vigils tell people that ‘they can do it.'”

Go Kyung Pyo showed a beautiful romance story with co-star Chae Soo Bin in the drama. The two have a long history as they were both film majors at Konkuk University. He said, “I didn’t get to see her often at school, but I wanted to try acting with her, which came true. And as I predicted, she’s a great actress. She’s sincere, bright, and has a lot of love for her projects. I believe that she’ll be a famous actress one day just like my previous co-stars Gong Hyo Jin and Im Soo Jung.”

As to the kind of actor he wants to be, Go Kyung Pyo stated, “I want to be an actor with a wide spectrum and an actor that people can always look forward to seeing.”

Meanwhile, Go Kyung Pyo is currently in talks to join tvN’s upcoming medical drama.
