“While You Were Sleeping” Records Its Highest Viewership Ratings So Far

While You Were Sleeping” has reached 10 percent in its viewership ratings for the first time.

The first part of the October 18 episode of “While You Were Sleeping” recorded a viewership rating of 8.6 percent while the second part recorded 10 percent. This is the first time the drama’s rating went over one digit and makes it the most popular drama that airs on Wednesday and Thursdays.

KBS’s “Mad Dog” aired during the same time slot recorded 6.9 percent, while MBC’s “Hospital Ship” aired an hour late due to baseball and recorded an average of 8.5 percent.

The episode begins with Jae Chan (played by Lee Jong Suk) narrowly managing to rescue Hong Joo (Suzy) and Cho Hee (Kim Da Ye) almost caught by Dae Hee (Kang Ki Young).

Dae Hee seeks out lawyer Yoo Beom (Lee Sang Yeob) and argues about the rule of presumed innocence, but Jae Chan tells him that Yoo Beom will not take the case. After reporting the story of Dae Hee, Hong Joo becomes caught up in guilt thinking of Woo Tak (Jung Hae In) who took a knife for her. Jae Chan soon shows up with tissues and comforts her.

Meanwhile, Woo Tak recovers from the injury and begins to stay at Hong Joo’s place upon leaving the hospital. Jae Chan ends up running errands despite his jealousy, which is taken care of when Hong Joo gives him a kiss unexpectedly in front of her doorstep.

At the end of the episode, former gold medalist in archery Yoo Soo Kyung (Cha Jung Won) dies a mysterious death. Key suspect Hak Young (Baek Sung Hyun) is revealed to be a close friend of Woo Tak, leaving the viewers curious about how the story will unfold.
