Ahead of airing its ninth episode, SBS has released new stills for its Wednesday-Thursday drama “While You Were Sleeping.”
In the stills, Jung Jae Chan (Lee Jong Suk) is investigating the murder of archery gold medalist Yoo Soo Kyung (Cha Jung Won). After the arrest of Do Hak Young (Baek Sung Hyun) as the prime suspect, Jae Chan is hard at work. He feels confident that Hak Young is not the criminal and works tirelessly day and night with investigator Choi Dam Dong (Kim Won Hae) to find out the truth.
Last week, the scene of Yoo Soo Kyung’s death was revealed to viewers showing that she fainted, hit her head on the table which caused bleeding, and the robot vacuum cleaner swept the blood across the living room before falling off the balcony.
However, because the vacuum was nowhere to be found and Hak Young was the last person seen entering and leaving the apartment on the CCTV, Hak Young was arrested as the prime suspect. When Jae Chan pieced the evidence together suspecting Hak Young as the criminal, all evidence pointed to the fact that Hak Young was not the criminal.
Also, Jae Chan learned that Soo Kyung had otolithiasis (an inner ear problem that causes vertigo) and kept in mind that she may have fainted due to her disease after Hak Young left her home. The problem was the picture drawn on the living room floor with Soo Kyung’s blood. According to Jae Chan’s analysis, the picture was drawn continuously in one stroke and impossible for Hak Young to do in 13 minutes without getting a single drop of blood on his feet.
It is now up to Jae Chan and Choi Dam Dong to figure out this part of the puzzle. Despite appearances, the two complement each other as partners. Jae Chan leads Dam Dong but also asks him for his advice and listens intently when he shares his thoughts. Dam Dong mutters under his breath when Jae Chan says something, but also follows his direction.
A source from the drama said, “The archery gold medalist case will come to an end this week. Jae Chan decided to release Hak Young and investigate the case, so please stay tuned to find out if he can find the clue to close the case.”
