Super Junior’s Kangin was arrested and subsequently released for supposed assault.

At around 4 a.m. KST on November 17, Kangin reportedly assaulted someone at a restaurant. According to the Gangnam branch of the Seoul police, they brought the idol in after they received a call that said, “Kangin is drunk and assaulting his girlfriend,” at approximately 4:30 a.m. KST on November 17.

As the victim did not formally press charges, not wanting any disciplinary actions taken, Kangin was later released with a warning after he was separated from the victim. The police explained that the victim had said she was his girlfriend as well. One cannot be charged and formally investigated for assault against the will of the victim.

A source from his agency SJ Label responded, “We are currently looking into the situation.”
