At one point in the conference, they were asked by reporters whether they felt threatened by the popularity of BTS and Wanna One. Suho said, “We always try to show a new side of ourselves, but as time goes on there may be people who get tired of it. However, we are always working hard to showcase performances that only EXO can do.”
They added, “We are proud of BTS and Wanna One for spreading K-pop not only to Korea but to the world. Our seniors PSY, Super Junior, TVXQ, Girls’ Generation, and SHINee paved the way and I think it is the duty of junior groups, including us, to keep spreading K-pop to the world. We prepare performances and music with that desire in mind.”
Meanwhile, EXO has held concerts from November 24, meeting 66,000 fans over the course of three days. This is their first concert at the Gocheok Sky Dome since October 2015.
