BTS’s “MIC Drop” remix has grabbed a spot on Billboard’s famous Hot 100 chart for the second week in a row!
BTS released their new remix of “MIC Drop” (featuring Desiigner and produced by DJ Steve Aoki) on November 24, and it became the group’s first Billboard Top 40 hit when it entered the Hot 100 last week in the No. 28 spot. This was the first time that a K-pop group has ever taken a coveted spot in the Top 40 of the chart.
On December 12, Billboard updated its charts for the week ending in December 23, and “MIC Drop” has come in at No. 71 for this week on the Hot 100 chart.
“MIC Drop” is BTS’s second track to make it on to the chart, after “DNA” recently spent four weeks on the Hot 100.
BTS has also entered Billboard’s Pop Songs radio airplay chart for the first time, coming in at No. 37. The chart ranks songs based on the number of total weekly plays according to Nielsen Music, with 160 mainstream top 40 stations reporting their plays.
The “MIC Drop” remix also tops the World Digital Song Sales chart, followed by BTS’s Japanese winter song “Crystal Snow” at No. 2 and “DNA” at No. 3.
Also, BTS still has two songs on the Canadian Hot 100 chart, with “MIC Drop” at No. 51 and “DNA” at No. 83.
Meanwhile, “Love Yourself: Her” is still having great success on Billboard charts, as it spends it ninth week on the Billboard 200 chart for the most popular albums in the United States. It is now at No. 98.
“Love Yourself: Her” is also maintaining the No. 1 spot on the World Albums chart, now in its twelfth week on the chart overall. At the same time, “You Never Walk Alone” is at No. 9 and “Wings” is at No. 12.
While these charts are for the week ending in December 23, Billboard also announced its year-end charts for 2017 yesterday, with BTS’s amazing year reflected in the charts.
Congratulations to BTS!
