Idol stars brought their pet dogs on the latest episode of “Weekly Idol,” creating a chaotic but fun episode.

The January 3 episode of “Weekly Idol” featured idol stars and their pet dogs to commemorate 2018 being the year of the dog according to the Chinese Zodiac calendar. MCs Jung Hyung Don and Defconn commented that it was Korea’s first broadcast with dogs as the main guests.

The first idol and pet guest pair was solo artist and former I.O.I member Chungha and her dog, Bambi. Chungha explained Bambi got her name because she had long hind legs like a deer when she was a puppy.

Next up were SEVENTEEN members Mingyu and Dokyeom. Mingyu brought his 9-year-old dog Ahji and shared, “She is very shy. I have never shown her on a broadcast before. There are fans who know about her, and fans who don’t. She doesn’t like coming outside.”

Dokyeom and dog Coco wore matching hanbok (Korean traditional attire) for their appearance. Dokyeom revealed that Coco was actually his uncle’s dog as his family’s dog Wooju was too nervous to bring for filming.

EXID’s Junghwa also guested on the episode with her pet dog Mocha. Junghwa commented, “I often hear that Mocha and I look alike. Fans get surprised [by our resemblance].”

Finally, MONSTA X members Minhyuk and Jooheon brought their pet dogs Dambi and Sanche. Minhyuk shared the funny story behind his dog’s name, saying, “My dad named my dog. He was a fan of Son Dambi.” Jooheon’s pet dog, Sanche, was the only male dog among the pets.

On this particular episode, the idol stars and their pet dogs participated in various missions. However, the idols had trouble controlling their pet dogs, and things didn’t go exactly as planned. Like their owners, each of the dogs had different personalities, making viewers laugh with their various antics.

In one mission, the show aimed to test the pets’ patience and their owners’ artistic skills. The idols were told to place their pets on cushions and then draw a portrait of them within five minutes.
