“Sugar Man 2” Is Off To Strong Start, Surpassing Highest Viewership Ratings Of Season 1

It looks like people have been excited for the return of JTBC’s “Sugar Man” as the second season kicked things off with impressive viewership ratings!

According to data released by Nielsen Korea on January 15, the first episode of “Two Yoo Project – Sugar Man 2” that aired the night before scored nationwide viewership ratings of 4.54 percent. During an interview before the broadcast, MC Yoo Hee Yeol had expressed his hopes for the show to reach four percent in ratings, and that goal was accomplished within the first episode. Also, the second season has already surpassed the highest ratings for the first season, which had been 3.91 percent.

The first episode invited singer Lee Ji Yeon and co-ed group Young Turks Club on the show to share what they’ve been up to and perform some of their old hits. They also brought on gugudan and NU’EST W to perform remakes of songs popularized by the two guests, and the two teams wowed with their stages.

“Sugar Man 2” is a show that brings on singers who have disappeared from the public eye and catches up with what they’ve been up to. It also gives these singers a chance to introduce their songs to a younger audience while also invoking a sense of nostalgia amongst the older crowd. The show invites currently-active singers to make remakes of the guests’ old hits as well.

Congratulations to “Sugar Man 2” on the great start!
