Lee El plays Secretary Ma in the drama, Woo Ma Wang’s (played by Cha Seung Won) chilly, fierce right-hand woman, known for her unwavering loyalty to her boss. However, in revealed stills from the upcoming episode, rather than serving a boss, she becomes one herself, and runs Fairy Ha’s (Sung Hyuk) cocktail bar. With her signature alluring red lips and keen fashion sense, she stands impressively behind the bar.
From the beginning of the drama, Secretary Ma has stayed by Cha Seung Won’s side and carried out his bidding, whether it be nonchalantly offering to kill anyone who bothered him, deleting unflattering selfies of her boss from fans’ phones, or flawlessly executing the dealings of Lucifer Entertainment. Throughout the drama, Lee El’s charisma has never lost to Cha Seung Won’s, making her the perfect person for their fierce duo.
Secretary Ma’s loyalty to Woo Ma Wang is strong to the point that she was willing to minutely rebel against an elderly deity Soo Bo Ri (played by Sung Ji Roo). When he made her boss uncomfortable, she pointedly refused to give him more tea, saying, “We don’t have any. I don’t want to give it to you. Please leave.” She even got a small bit of revenge as she stole the remainder of his cookies.
She is also willing to put her life at risk for Woo Ma Wang. When Woo Ma Wang drank Jin Sun Mi (played by Oh Yeon Seo)’s blood as the result of Son Oh Gong (played by Lee Seung Gi)’s plans and suffered, she resolved to kill Jin Sun Mi, knowing she would be killed in turn by Son Oh Gong. Accidentally stabbing Woo Ma Wang instead when he appeared to save Jin Sun Mi at the last moment, she is distraught afterwards and even begs him to kill her.
