MBC has fun variety shows lined up for the 2018 Lunar New Year!

2018 Idol Star Athletics Championships New Year Special

MBC’s classic Lunar New Year special program is back for the ninth year.  Male and female idol stars will test out their athletic abilities to compete in track and field, bowling, archery, rhythmic gymnastics, and aerobics.

Jun Hyun Moo, Super Junior’s Leeteuk, and Apink’s Bomi will be the MCs of this event. “2018 Idol Star Athletics Championships” will air its first two episodes on February 15 at 5:40 p.m. KST and the final two episodes on February 16 at 5:10 p.m. KST.

Infinite Challenge” featuring H.O.T.

Infinite Challenge” is planning to air an epic Lunar New Year special featuring the legendary boy group H.O.T. Its Lunar New Year special titled “ToToGa 3: Return of the Kings H.O.T.” will be the first time the members have reunited in 17 years.

The show will chronicle the members’ first reunion, preparations for their performance, and finally their performance that will take place at the Olympic Hall on February 15.

Watch a clip of the H.O.T. members rehearsing for their reunion performance here! This episode of “Infinite Challenge” will air the first episode on February 17 at 10:25 p.m. KST and second episode on February 24 at 10:40 p.m. KST.

“The Game With No Name”

MBC will air a Lunar New Year special mystery game show titled “The Game With No Name.” Jun Hyun Moo will MC the game with Jung Si Ah, Kwon Hyuk Soo, Oh My Girl’s YooA, and SEVENTEEN’s Seungkwan as panelists.

Hyun Young and her daughter, comedian Hong In Kyu and his son, actor Jung Tae Woo and his son, and iKON’s B.I and his younger sister will enter a mysterious game room to discover problems, find clues, and solve them to escape the room.

The show was developed by MBC, NBC Universal, SM C&C, and British production company Monkey Kingdom. “The Game With No Name” will air on February 18 at 9:05 a.m. KST.

To celebrate the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics, there will be a joint Taekwondo demonstration by North and South Korea at the MBC Public Hall in Sangnam on February 14. “One Korea! Peace Taekwondo” will air on February 18 at 8 a.m. KST.

Regular MBC programs will also air Lunar New Year special episodes this year. “I Live Alone” will air one on February 16 at 11:10 p.m. KST, “King of Masked Singer” on February 18 at 5:35 p.m. KST, and “Ranking Show 1, 2, 3” on February 16 at 8:55 p.m. KST.
