TWICE is continuing their platinum streak in Japan!
The girl group’s new Japanese single “Candy Pop” topped Oricon’s daily singles chart for the fifth consecutive day on February 10 with 18,853 copies sold.
After five days of sales, the single has now sold a total of 256,809 copies, far exceeding the group’s previous Japanese first-week sales record of 205,595 with “One More Time.” It also breaks the first-week sales record for a Japanese single by a Korean girl group.
As “Candy Pop” has now exceeded 250,000 in sales, it is confirmed to receive platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ).
Once officially announced by the RIAJ, all three of TWICE’s Japanese releases so far will be certified platinum.
Congratulations to TWICE on another impressive achievement!
