Korean-American snowboarder Chloe Kim, who happens to be a fan of CL, won the gold medal at the women’s snowboard halfpipe event in the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics!
After successfully landing a back-to-back 1080 degree trick, which consists of doing three 360-degree rotations in the air followed by another three 360-degree rotations in the air, Chloe Kim received a high score of 98.25 points. At 17 years old, this made Chloe Kim the youngest female snowboarder to win gold the Olympics, setting a new record.
Chinese snowboarder Liu Jiayu was awarded the silver medal with 89.75 points and American snowboarder Ariel Gold won the bronze with 85.75 points.
Chloe Kim has mentioned in interviews that she often listens to CL’s music and dances to it before she competes.
On February 14, CL uploaded a screenshot of an Olympics fan’s Instagram post about Chloe Kim’s gold medal win and congratulated her on her amazing feat. CL’s fans are known as GZBs, and CL added at the beginning of her caption, “GZBz do it well.”
Actor Park Seo Joon also posted a photo of Chloe Kim receiving the gold medal with the caption, “That’s crazy.”
